After Ottomans defeat and British army and Arab forces victory and surrender Damascus to the King of Hejaz, Faisal I on October 1, 1918 , Mustafa Kemal Ataturk fled and who with him to Aleppo and headed to Afrin area as a corridor to survive and access to areas of Turkish military presence.

 

They came to Agha (tribe leader )Kurdish from Afrin to Haj Khalil village and asked for safety. Mustafa Kemal stayed there for a month, fearing that he would be persecuted, arrested or killed by the British. Agha has great risks in sheltering him.

A hundred years later . Mustafa Kemal descendants come and photograph this house where he was hiding with Agha protection , as Mustafa Kemal’s military operations headquarters. This incident took place as a ground for Turkey’s annexation and change of demography.
