A court in Al-Bab city sentenced a Syrian doctor to six months’ imprisonment and a 5,000-Turkish pounds fine for defaming Erdogan

A court in al-Bab issued order issued by Judge Ahmad al-Nua’ami and his assistant Maysa al-Assaad to imprison Dr. Mahmoud al-Sayeh for 6 months with a fine of 5000 Turkish pound for insulting a foreign head of state and compensating Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Dr. Mahmoud al-Sayeh was born in al-Bab city in 1970 and was arrested by al-Hamzat division during his visit to his family several months ago on charges of criticizing Turkish policy towards the “Syrian revolution” and “the Turkish president” on his Facebook account.
