Afrin resident tells survivors that one of the worst prisons run by Turkish troops in northern countryside of Aleppo on the border inside Syria. The prison is supervised by Syrian fighters carefully chosen by Turkish intelligence, details of what is going on inside this prison are narrated by him, where he talked about the brutal methods of torture that take place inside the prison, where most of men and women detained in Afrin started when Turkish imposition of their control the city on charges of their cooperation and joining to People’s Protection Units located in Alra’ai town related to A’azaz region.
The citizen (Kh m) from Afrin district described details of torture and violations he suffered during 65 days of his arrest by the armed factions, where they are assembled and then sent to mentioned prison, supervised by Turkish intelligence.
“When we tried to get out from Afrin as a result of repeated violations by the factions, we used subways to try to escape and not pass by highway roads until we were arrested at a checkpoint. We were 27 people, even though we were not armed, but we were shot, tied up and blindfolded, then put our heads in plastic bags then they moved us to a car. “
He pointed out that during the transfer, many of the kidnappers were suffocating from the bags on their heads, and everyone who screamed to lift the bag from his head because they felt suffocated they was beaten with arms and almost everyone was beaten and insulted until they reached the prison.
“When they arrived at the prison, they threw us out of the car in a barbaric manner with the beatings. They all took us into one room only 3 meters long and two meters wide, after they had lifted our bags without removing our blindfolded, there was only one blanket and after midnight they brought food for us .We asked to disengage our hands so that we could eat, and they said to us, “You have to eat like dogs.”
“After two days they took us to a second dormitory and removed our restrictions, and then the journey of torment and humiliation began.
When they like to investigated they choose one person randomly then they take you and torture you in Barbarian way and exhausted from beating” he said. “On one day they chose me they would interrogate me,” said one of the prison’s supervisors called me . “When I approached him, he closed my eyes. He threw me on ground and began to kick me. Some of them gathered around me and began to beat me with cables, hoses and sticks. I turned in dormitory and screamed from the pain I could not bear until my strength collapsed. “
He noted that he was severely beaten and tortured in the dormitory and during interrogation he exhausted his body and was unable to stand for 12 days.
for what he saw from the armed practices against the abductors, citizen (Kh m) testified that one of them had cut off ear of one of the abductors inside prison by a “scissors” and described the scene as “brutal and unscrupulous.”
They also said that they had closed the eyes of the kidnappers and asked them to run in the dormitory and beat them with cables. Anyone who stopped would beat him brutally, some of them would try to escape their beatings with great pain and when he ran in the dormitory he is blindfolded strongly he crash with the wall or objects inside the room causing great pain.
On other hand, the citizen confirmed that while they were in prison they heard cries of women inside the prison, they were beaten and tortured, and they were looking surreptitiously from the hole in the door lock and saw how they beat some women brutally in corridors of the prison. There are also hundreds of Arabs arrested for refusing to join the factions or having ties with Turkish forces.
He reported that he spent 65 days inside the prison and was subjected to all forms of beatings and humiliation without any offense. He noted that before his release one day, a Turkish officer met him. On the second day, the gunmen took him away from the prison and accused him of killing him to terrorize his heart. , And fired several shots beside his ear to intimidate him, and then disbanded and released him, and then managed to reach the province of Shahba with the help of some citizens in the area of A’azaz, while the rest of his friends are still in prison.
