Raids on Houses and Detention of 38 People in Afrin in Two Days

Ankara-backed armed factions continue to commit further violations in Afrin region.
 Ahrar Al Sharqiya faction confiscated 3,000 olive trees in Oshagi village in Rajo district on the pretext of the absence of its owners, al-Dheeb faction, who refused to return the villagers to their homes on the pretext that they supported “Kurdish parties”. They also distributed agricultural land in Shdian Plains (south of Sorke Village), an area of 12,000 hectares, to be planted by armed men.
They also leased land in the village to the sheep owners for grazing in it \ 1500 SYP for each sheep that allow graze, which is a land of olives, pomegranate and grapes, the overgrazing causes the death of the trees, in addition to allowing the villagers to reside in the homes of the owners abandoned at the intersection of Sheikh Bilal Village.

In the village of Rasah, in the Raju area, the gunmen who erected a roadblock in the entrance to the residents were obliged to go out in night guard, knowing that they were the elderly, and obliged them to carry out forced labour and to impose royalties on them for protection, although they continued to prevent them from guarding their land and olive groves.

Armed members of the Damascus Legion in control of the western part of the countryside and the villages of the area of Raju continued to cut the trees/sweet oak trees (Rumi), which are estimated to be over 300 to 500 years old and are located in the highlands of the Black River (Kosher hill), for the purpose of selling firewood.

In the village of “Qada”, which belongs to Rajo district and after the increase of raids and theft of the contents of the houses, the residents were brought to the local council in the village, which was formed by Turkey since the invasion of the city, and a room in its headquarters was converted to a warehouse to preserve “olive oil tanks” belonging to the residents, with the approval Bilal and Fawzi Osman Arab, where the latter seized all oil tanks, in agreement with al-Hamzat militants under threat of arrest and kidnapping. In the city of Afrin, militants carried out a new campaign in the Ashrafieh neighbourhood and raided the homes of civilians late yesterday evening, vandalizing the contents of the houses, confiscating all telephone devices and stealing money or jewellery from their hands. They also raided houses in the vicinity of the meaty roundabout in the center of the city, during which they arrested 20 citizens.
