The media center of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) announced a statement today about operations carried out by unit fighters under the second phase of resistance against the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation army in Afrin, killing a number of mercenaries.
The text of the statement is:
“Within the framework of second phase of resistance in Afrin, our units carried out a series of military operations targeting the bases and headquarters of the occupation and his mercenaries in a number of areas in Afrin, where a number of mercenaries were killed.
On 28 July, our fighters infiltrated one of mercenaries headquarters of Sultan Murad in Shara district and clashed face-to-face with mercenaries. Two mercenaries were killed and another was seriously injured.
Our fighters also carried out a sniper attack on one of leaders of the mercenaries of the Sham Corps on the rank of battalion commander on road leading to the Jandrees district, where mercenary was killed immediately and the operation was videotaped.
the number of mercenaries and Turkish soldiers killed by our units during fighting in the resistance of the era increased to 2,541. ”
The media center of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) announced a written statement revealing record of 7 fighters who lost their lives during their participation in the battle of Afrin.
The statement said:
“During 7 years of RojAva Revolution, our regions experienced many historical resistances, but by 2018 the resistance’s legacy reached the highest levels and turned into historic resistance. Where great resistance was displayed in front of occupied Turkish State and its mercenary groups, such as Al jabhat Al nosra and ISL. Now our resistance forces lead in second phase of resistance of the age on the geography of Afrin in the face of mercenary groups. Since beginning of the resistance and until now, our comrades are struggling with a fanatical spirit and ambition aimed at achieving freedom. As the struggle escalates, many of our comrades have won the honor of martyrdom. This struggle and this resistance proves once again the fact that great gains come from the great sacrifices ”
