Civilian Home Raided and Resident Abducted in Northern Aleppo Countryside
Local sources in the northern countryside of Aleppo reported that a force affiliated with the General Security of the transitional authority carried out a raid on a civilian home in the town of Akhtarin, in the A’zaz countryside, resulting in the abduction of its resident and his transfer to an unknown location.
According to the information obtained, the force stormed the home of Haider Hassan Abbas (40 years old), conducting a search described as violent, during which members of his family were intimidated and humiliated. He was then detained without the presentation of a legal warrant or any clarification regarding the reasons for his arrest.
Sources added that Abbas is originally from the village of Ta’anah in the countryside of al-Bab, and has been residing in Akhtarin for some time. No confirmed information is available regarding the motives behind targeting him or the authority to which he was taken.
As of the time of writing this report, his family remains unaware of his fate, amid growing concerns for his safety, particularly in the absence of any official statements from the relevant authorities.
This incident raises concerns about the continued violations against civilians in northern Syria, particularly arbitrary arrests and the lack of due process, underscoring the need for a transparent investigation and accountability for those responsible.
