Security Tensions in Sheikh Maqsoud Neighborhood in Aleppo After Removal of Kurdish Flag and Arrest of Four Young Men
The Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo has witnessed a state of security tension and public unrest following an incident in which a group of young men removed the Kurdish flag in the cemeteries area.
According to local sources, Kurdish youths from the neighborhood considered the act to be discriminatory and provocative. They later attempted to raise the flag again, but were prevented from doing so by Public Security forces .
Sources added that security forces arrested four young men — Bashar Hussein, Hussein Hussein, Hamza Suleiman, and Samir Youssef — noting that they were subjected to physical assault during the arrest. They were then taken to an unknown location, and their fate remains unknown at the time of writing this report.
Tensions remain high in the neighborhood, amid a continued security presence and growing concerns over further escalation in the coming hours.
